The 30-year-old mother who murdered 7-year-old Andreas in Kypseli in 2022, whose bones were found in a toolbox, was sentenced to life imprisonment.
The case had shocked the whole of Greece, as the woman and her partner murdered the child six years ago, with the perpetrators hiding the body in a toolbox on the balcony of their home in Kypseli.
The boy's disappearance was reported six years ago, with the mother then claiming that the child had visited his father in Poland. However, her claim did not convince the authorities who continued to investigate the case to clear it up.
The man claimed that on the day of the child's death, the minor was allegedly reacting to the "punishment he had given him in order to improve his character". He made the child fast and forced him to stand. When he protested, the man allegedly covered his mouth with duct tape with the mother present.
The arrested couple claimed that they left the child alone in this condition and when they returned they found him dead. They placed the body in the attic and sealed it with boards. They reported him missing to the authorities and told everyone that the child had gone to his father in Poland.
When they left the house where the murder took place, they put the remains of the child in a box and took it everywhere with them so that the authorities would not discover it.
