The Ministry seeks to facilitate debtors who, due to the circumstances, face great difficulties in meeting their obligations. Finance with the new round of debt arrangements.

Within the week, based on what the Minister of Finance Christos Staikouras mentioned last weekend, the electronic platform for the new regulation of 36-72 installments is expected to open, where thousands of debtors will be able to include the debts they incurred from November 2021 to and February 2023.

"Those who missed the 72 and 120 doses, we are reviving them. And at the same time, to the citizens, who succeeded in the debt crisis, succeeded in the pandemic and have been struggling since November 2021 due to the accuracy, with social justice we will help them with 36 - 72 installments", stressed the Minister of Finance in T/S Saturday morning sky.

Specifically, with the opening of the platform, debtors will have the opportunity to:

For the old tax regulations

To revive the arrangements of 72 and 120 doses. It concerns those who lost them until February 1, 2023. The specific debtors may rejoin the same regulation regime with the same terms and conditions, following their application, which is submitted until July 31, 2023, for the remaining debt on the date of application and for the remaining number of outstanding installments of the arrangement.

Reintegration of the debtor into the arrangement is carried out by paying, within three working days from the date of submission of the application and no later than 31 July 2023, an amount corresponding to the sum of the amount of the oldest unpaid installment of the lost arrangement and the amount of the current installment of the reviving arrangement.

If the debtor has other overdue debts that are not in settlement or in a suspension status on the date of re-entry into settlement, he must, within one month from this date, pay them off or submit all of them to settlement or settle them with another legal way.

If, after one month has passed since rejoining the arrangement, the debtor has not paid off or settled in a legal way the debts that had become overdue on the date of rejoining, the arrangement is lost.

The new emergency regulation

Also, confirmed tax debts that have become overdue after 1.11.2021 and up to 1.2.2023 may, at the request of the debtor, be subject to a partial payment arrangement in 36 and 72 monthly installments, provided that the debtor on 1.11.2021 has not he had other overdue debts or his overdue debts, as a whole, were settled in a legal manner.

All debts due after 1.11.2021 and up to 1.2.2023, which until the date of the application for affiliation have not been settled in a legal manner by suspending payment or arranging partial payment of debts based on law or court decision or temporary order.

Debts that cannot be regulated and relate to the recovery of state aid granted through the establishment of special tax-free reserves or in accordance with other provisions are not regulated.

The minimum monthly installment amount of the arrangement is set at 30 euros.

In order to be included in the regulation, the following conditions must be met by the applicant on the date of submission of the application for inclusion:

a) to have submitted all income tax returns for the last five years until 31.12.2022,

b) not have been irrevocably convicted of tax evasion or smuggling,

c) if the applicant has been subject to debt settlement, this settlement must be in force. For inclusion in the regulation, the first installment is paid within three working days from the date of application for inclusion in the regulation. That is, for debtors who created overdue debts in the period from November 1, 2021 to February 1, 2023 and have already included them in the fixed arrangement of 24 or 48 installments, it is possible to bring them under the new arrangement of 72 installments, while on November 1, 2021 there are settled debts in the fixed arrangement of 24 or 48 installments which were later lost and at the same time new debts were confirmed, after November 1, 2021, then these new debts can be included in the new arrangement of 36 or 72 installments.

Subsequent installments are paid by the last working day of the following months from the date of application for inclusion in the arrangement.

Debts to local authorities

Debts to municipalities are also regulated in 36 to 72 installments and the old program of 100 installments is being revived for those who missed it.
