The technical requirements and upgrade deadlines for the approximately 300,000 operating Tax Cash Registers (FTM) and ADIME (Autonomous Fiscal Processing Units) were "locked" by the decision of the Governor of AADE, Giorgos Pitsilis.
Upon completion of the upgrade, the existing VAT and ADIME terminals will be able to interface with payment card acceptance terminals (EFT/POS), in order to transmit to this card payment amount and at the same time ensure the issuance of the relevant receipt.
Also, the decision defines specifications for the transmission of additional information from FIM to AADE, related to payment by cards, and for the possibility of upgrading software without the on-site visit of a technician.
Completion by 2023
For businesses with a turnover of up to €100,000, the upgrade completion date is 30.06.2023, while for businesses whose turnover exceeds €100,000, 31.07.2023 is set.
It is clarified that the existing tax mechanisms (EAFDSS) are not included in this upgrade, as specifications have already been issued for the construction of a new type of mechanisms (FIMAS). AADE is in cooperation with the market operators to determine the transition plan to the new type of mechanisms as soon as possible.
AADE's goal is, within 2023, for all businesses to operate with modern FIMs, which will be suitable for the retail transactions they will carry out, with the possibility of interfacing with POS for card payment.
