The turnover of businesses and economic activities in the country increased by approximately 121 billion euros or 35.5% last year and amounted to 461,242,602 euros, compared to 340,283,110 euros in 2021.

The largest increase of 51.8% was presented by the businesses of the Accommodation Services and Catering Services sector, while the smallest increase of 2.2% was presented by the businesses of the Human Health and Social Care Related Activities sector.

Also according to ELSTAT, for all businesses and economic activities the turnover in the fourth quarter of 2022 amounted to 125,212,894 euros, marking a 24% increase compared to the fourth quarter of 2021 which had reached 100,967,883 euro. The largest increase was shown by businesses in the Education sector (35.1%), while the smallest increase was shown by businesses in the Water Supply, Wastewater Treatment, Waste Management and Sanitation Activities sector (4%).

Whereas, for all businesses in the economy with an obligation to keep double-entry books and for which data are available on a monthly basis, the turnover in December 2022 amounted to 40,079,122 euros, marking an increase of 30.2% compared to December 2021 which had risen to 30,779,587 euros.

The largest increase was shown by the companies in the Construction sector (33.5%) and the smallest increase was shown by the companies in the Water Supply, Wastewater Treatment, Waste Management and Sanitation Activities sector (2.1%). Meanwhile, the businesses of the Mines and Quarries sector showed a decrease (16.3%).
