The head of Labor of SYRIZA-PS, Marilisa Xenogiannakopoulou, speaks of the "taunting" of pensioners by Kyriakos Mitsotakis. "Mr. Mitsotakis is once again feeding the pensioners rabbits with petrachelias. After deceiving them for three and a half years, now before the elections he announced a one-time small allowance, which has already been eaten by accuracy", he comments.
Mrs. Xenogiannakopoulou mentions in particular that "due to the Mitsotakis government's choices with the abolition of the 13th pension and the reduction of retroactive benefits, the pensioners have lost over 7 billion. euros, as well as 40% of their purchasing power".
He notes that "the non-permanent allowance announced by Mr. Mitsotakis does not even in the least cover the huge losses of pensioners from government policies and is completely inconsistent with their real needs" and that "the only increases that pensioners saw this year are due to law of the SYRIZA government of 2017".
He emphasizes that SYRIZA-PS is committed to the "permanent restoration of all the injustices of the Mitsotakis government" and specifically: "For the re-granting of the 13th pension, the return of retroactive benefits in three annual installments, the permanent restoration of the injustice of the personal dispute, the increase of the tax-free allowance for pensioners at 10,000 euros and the abolition of TEKA - the capitalization system that has handed over the Ancillary Insurance to private interests".
"To Mr. Mitsotakis' taunt, the pensioners will give their strong response in the elections," he concludes.
