Greek retail businesses also saw an increase in their turnover in November, according to the data announced today by the Hellenic Statistical Authority.
In particular, for businesses in the retail trade sector with an obligation to keep duplicate books, for which data are available on a monthly basis, the turnover in November 2022 amounted to 3.31 billion euros, marking an increase of 15.0% compared to November 2021 which had been formed at 2.88 billion euros and an increase of 4.1% compared to October 2022 which had been formed at 3.18 billion euros.
According to ELSTAT data, the activities that showed the largest increase in turnover in November 2022 compared to November 2021 are:
Retail trade of toys of all kinds in specialized stores, an increase of 26.9%.
Retail trade of hardware, paints and glass in specialized stores, up 26.8%.
The activities that showed the largest decrease in turnover in November 2022 compared to November 2021 are:
Retail sale of music and video recordings in specialized stores, down 22.4%.
Retail trade of carpets, kilims and floor and wall coverings in specialized stores, down 14.9%
The Regions that showed the largest increase in turnover in November 2022 compared to November 2021 are:
Region of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace, an increase of 20.0%.
Region of Western Macedonia, an increase of 19.2%.
For businesses in the retail trade sector, with the exception of vehicles, food and fuel, with an obligation to keep double-entry books, for which data are available on a monthly basis, the turnover in November 2022 amounted to 1.07 billion euros, marking an increase of 18.1% compared to November 2021 which had been formed at 0.91 billion euros and an increase of 15.7% compared to October 2022 which had been formed at 0.93 billion euros.
The Regions that showed the greatest increase in turnover in November 2022 compared to November 2021 are:
Region of Central Greece, an increase of 28.8%.
Region of Western Macedonia, 24.5% increase
