The new charges and government subsidies for the month of December are to be implemented from January 1st on the electricity bills for private individuals and professionals.
The total capital that will be allocated to subsidies for the January charges amounts to 840 million euros, which is twice what was used in December, according to the official announcement of the government.
It is noted that the government's goal remains to reward saving and not simple financial "support", as the main priority remains energy saving, against the background of European decisions to reduce consumption.
It is recalled that the subsidy applies to all main and non-main residence benefits, without income criteria and regardless of provider.
Detailed examples
A household with an average monthly consumption of 400 kwh/month would pay 199 euros without the subsidy and finally with the subsidy it would pay 67 euros.
A household with an average monthly consumption of 700 kwh/month would pay 349 euros without the subsidy and finally with the subsidy it would pay 128 euros. Whereas if he saves 15% on his consumption, he will pay 118 euros.
A household with an average monthly consumption of 1,200 kwh/month would pay 598 euros without the subsidy and finally with the subsidy it would pay 255 euros. Whereas if he saves 15% on his consumption he will pay 220 euros.
Price Comparison Tool
The "Energy Cost" online application of the Energy Regulatory Authority (RAE) offers the possibility to compare prices between the offered electricity tariffs. In this way, consumers can search, compare and be informed about the prices applicable in the market and find the most economical supplier of electricity for home or business use.
The Price Comparison Tool is an online application of the Energy Regulatory Authority, which was designed to capture and compare in the most complete way possible, based on the principles of transparency, accessibility of information and independence in information, the total cost of the competing part of the tariffs offered, as well as calculate the cost of regulated charges related to energy consumption.
The scope of the price comparison tool is the tariffs of Small Low Voltage Electricity Customers and the residential and commercial tariffs of End Customers of natural gas, as defined in article 3 of the respective Supply Codes.
The Energy Regulatory Authority, emphasizing the service and protection of low-income consumers, integrated into the tool the discounts of the beneficiaries of the Social Household Tariff (KOT), while in the context of the general empowerment of the consumer, the information offered also included the cost of the regulated charges that are part of the total cost of energy.
