Five more Greeks were freed from Sudan yesterday, while earlier 10 other Greeks and their family members were freed and are in Djibouti.
"An additional five Greeks from Sudan arrived in Djibouti a little while ago, on a flight of an Italian military aircraft," the Ministry of Foreign Affairs says in a statement.
As noted, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Nikos Dendias, has thanked his Italian counterpart, Antonio Tajani, for the help that his country continues to provide in the efforts to free Greeks and their family members from Sudan.
"The process and actions for the release of our compatriots and their family members from this country are ongoing, always in close coordination with our EU partners and allies," he adds.
"An additional 10 Greeks and their family members from Sudan, who are already in Djibouti, were freed, this time with the help of Italy. Everyone is in good health," Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias wrote on Twitter.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Nikos Dendias, had a telephone conversation with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, regarding the coordination of actions to provide assistance to the Greeks in Sudan and their release from the country, according to a relevant post by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Twitter.
Dendias at the Council of Foreign Affairs
The Minister of Foreign Affairs Nikos Dendias, attending the Council of Foreign Ministers of the EU in Luxembourg, thanked the "huge efforts" made by the High Representative of the EU and the Foreign Ministers of France, Germany and Italy for the evacuation of Greek citizens from Khartoun, noting however that Europe in the crisis in Sudan "has not got a very good grade".
