The issue of "the illegal export of the Predator from Greece to African countries" is being brought to the Commission by the Eurogroup of SYRIZA-PS, as stated in its relevant announcement.

According to a question addressed to the European Commission, SYRIZA-PS MEPs Dimitris Papadimoulis, Costas Arvanitis, Petros Kokkalis, Stelios Kouloglou and Elena Kountoura are asking to be informed whether "the Greek government has responded to the Commission's request since February 14, for providing clarifications" and whether "he has communicated the conclusion of the EDE, which the Greek government refuses to make public"

Here is the text of the question to the European Commission:

"Following publications revealing that the Greek government granted licenses for the export of the Predator malware to Madagascar, where the shipment of the illegal software was confirmed to the New York Times - and to two more countries, one of which is in East Africa - the European The Prosecutor's Office has reportedly launched an investigation into illegal exports of the Predator by the Greek government and in particular into violation of Regulation 2021/821 (establishing an EU control system for exports, brokering, technical assistance, transit and transfer of dual-use items) .

Meanwhile, in an exchange of views at the European Parliament's PEGA inquiry committee on March 28, Commission Vice-President Valdis Dombrovskis criticized the use of the Predator by the Greek government and stated that on February 14 the Commission requested clarifications from the Greek government regarding export licenses of Predator, but has yet to receive a response.
