Papadimoulis: Zero tolerance for sexual harassment

The head of the Eurogroup of SYRIZA, Dimitris Papadimoulis, with his post on twitter, says "SYRIZA and our Eurogroup reacted instantly, as soon as we learned of the complaint against EB Georgoulis. The case will be decided by the Belgian authorities according to the legal procedures. In fact, Mr. Papadimoulis described the publication of the complainant's details as unacceptable.

Also, Mr. Papadimoulis emphasized that, in his judgment, attempts are being made to give the matter a political-party dimension and to sharpen his relations

Finally, the MEP of SYRIZA-PS, emphasized that SYRIZA and the Eurogroup support the lifting of the immunity of Alexis Georgoulis and await the judgment of the Belgian authorities.

Intense political confrontation

The Minister of Development, Adonis Georgiadis, spoke about the Georgoulis case and left some tips for Alexis Tsipras, stressing that the leader of the Official Opposition knew and was covering for the MEP.

Mr. Georgiadis said: "As for the case as such, obviously none of us can take a position, it is an ongoing judicial process, Mr. Georgoulis has the presumption of innocence like any accused. As for political issues, things are not so simple. I want to remind you that when the complaint against Ligadis was made and the prosecution against Lignadis was made all of SYRIZA started a character assassination of Mitsotakis by using a photo of Mitsotakis from Epidaurus together with Lignadis and Ms. Grabovski and of course a character assassination of Linas Mendoni. "It is absolutely obvious that Tsipras knew about it and was covering it up because such an investigation does not stay hidden for three years. The MEP of SYRIZA, Stelios Kouloglou, for his part noted: "There have been some unspecified rumors for some time and for this reason Mr. Georgoulis was competently questioned and said that there is nothing to worry about because because the subject is very sensitive and there is a lot of sensitivity in the field for these types of issues".

There were some vague rumors that something has happened with harassment and such. Mr. Georgoulis was asked and he said that there is nothing."

KKE: The complaint should be investigated

"Another case of abuse of women that needs to be investigated, another disgusting confrontation, with evidence of gossip, which leaves the crucial issue untouched, which is complaints dragging on for years and the victims remaining, completely unprotected, even for the rudimentary protection of their personal data" points out the KKE in its comment on the complaint case against the MEP.

And second complaint

Another one for sexual abuse is said to have been made at the expense of the former SYRIZA MEP, Alexis Georgoulis, but there is still nothing official.

In the last few hours, the "whispers" about the existence of a second complaint against him were intense, while there was also a related post from the page "Wonderful women" on Instagram, where, among other things, it is stated:

"In the last hour we learn that there is a second complaint, as the information is circulating in the corridors of the European Parliament that two years ago an intern at the European Parliament from Thessaloniki complained that she had gone out for a drink with Alexis Georgoulis and the next day she was found physically abused, under unspecified conditions".
