The government representative, Yiannis Oikonomou, denied the complaints of the judge, Christos Tzanerikos, regarding an attempt by the government to interfere in his work.
Mr. Tzanerikos essentially complained that he was approached by a government official, offering him "exchanges" to agree to the government's amendment for the "block" in the Kasidiaris party.
However, Yannis Economou categorically denied the above: "There was no intervention by the government at any level, there could not be" Mr. Economou insisted, repeating that "the New Democracy government does not compromise the value principle of protecting democracy from criminals and knife pullers."
He also explained that "the government had a consultation with the leadership of the Supreme Court that had to do with the procedural issues of the operation of the supreme court and this was institutionally mandated. What does this have to do with all the incredible things being said?'
"Bazaars are completely outside our value framework. We do not bargain, we operate institutionally and respect the separation of powers" concluded Yannis Oikonomou.
