The provocative statements of the Turkish Foreign Minister, as well as the statements of Nikos Dendias regarding Greek-Turkish relations, were commented on by PASOK - Movement for Change, with its announcement.
Harilaou Trikoupi, initially, referred to the statements of the Greek Foreign Minister, noting that "Mr. Dendias spoke of an 'excellent climate in Greek-Turkish relations', even proposing a change in the context of exploratory contacts to resolve the issue of the continental shelf".
"However, the statements of the Turkish Foreign Minister, Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, in which he again raises the issue of the sovereignty of the Aegean islands and seeks a 'package' negotiation for recourse to the International Court of Justice in The Hague 'for all issues', prove once again that the government's strategy is based on 'seeing and doing'", noted PASOK - KINAL.
And he emphasized that "Greek-Turkish relations cannot be used as a communication opportunity or as a pre-election ploy", adding that "they require seriousness, national strategy and long-term planning"
