The apologies of the 12 defendants for the murder of 19-year-old Alkis Kampanos finally begin today.
Yesterday at noon, the process of examining the defense witnesses was completed and after that the president of the Mixed Jury Court of Thessaloniki suspended the trial.
What the last defense witness testified to
The last witness to be examined was a special expert - a laboratory analyst, who was instructed to prepare technical reports on behalf of three defendants (1st, 6th and 12th), describing in time their movements and positions in relation to the event in question.
Basing his scientific conclusions on the analysis of security camera material and amateur videos found in the case file, the witness - computer engineer "placed" the specific defendants away from the scene of the crime.
By comparing this material in terms of times and determining their positions, he concluded that they did not approach the point of the killer. Regarding the documentation of this position, and in particular for the case of the 12th defendant, he analyzed the data of the navigation device that the car he was driving had and determined his movement.
