Those who left for Easter are returning to Athens. The first wave of excursions returned to the capital on Easter Monday while the second yesterday, Easter Tuesday.
This year's Easter, Athenians left the capital en masse to spend the festive days in the countryside, resulting in a total of 576,914 vehicles exiting the toll roads of Eleusis and Aphidna between April 7 and 14.
It is estimated that a total of around 1.5 to 2 million Athenians left Attica either by I.X. car, either by bus or by boat, to spend these festive days in their village or on an island.
According to Open, 19 ships from Cyclades, Dodecanese and Crete were expected to reach Piraeus, 13 ships from Cyclades to Rafina and 8 ships from Dodecanese and Cyclades to Lavrio.
According to the same information, 15,432 passengers returned to Piraeus on Easter Monday, 11,493 to Rafina and 4,072 to Lavrio.
It is noted that the vehicles that exited the tolls of Elefsina and Afidna during the period from April 7 to 14, on the occasion of the Easter holidays, amounted to 576,914.
From April 9 to 15, 22,896 violations were confirmed by the Traffic Police.
